DAISY HICKS (Australia) singer songrwriter pop Daisy is an English-born and Australian-raised singer/songwriter who has built up a media presence, peer and industry recognition and a growing fan-base in the UK, Europe, Japan and Australia. Daisy’s music roots have run deep since childhood. Closely related to the international recording star Chris Rea and the daughter of the legendary jazz drmmer Tony Hicks (Backdoor) – her connections to the music industry run just as deep. Her debut album entitled MISTRESS, which she co-wrote) was produced by Aron Friedman (Backstreet Boys, Take That and Elton John), released by Concept Music and distributed by Universal in the UK/Europe and Fuji/JVC in Japan. MISTRESS was supported with the release of 3 singles to radio in these territories with extensive airplay on Radio 1, Radio 2, Capitol FM and regional stations, national TV exposure (London Today, Kelly Show and Nickelodeon) and national press. These singles also received radio airplay on some of the leading stations in Japan. Remixes of DON’T EVEN GO THERE, HOOKED ON YOU, BACK ON MY FEET and MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN were well received in dance clubs in these territories and were released on numerous compilation CDs. Returning to Australia, Daisy established her own record label called Beautiful Soul Music in 2005 and set out to record her second commercial release entitled INCREDIBLE, which she also co-wrote. Daisy co-wrote the new album with George MacFarlane (Gabrielle), Malcolm Maddock, Aron Friedman and it was produced by UK-based Tim Ellis. Daisy has shared the stage with artists like Boy George, Gabrielle, Womack and Womack and Gloria Gaynor on festivals and gigs in the UK and Australia. Daisy is also an ambassador to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Australia where she personally donates a percentage of her proceeds to help raise awareness and find a cure.
