Breaks and Drum & Bass music

We like non-conformist breaks, drum and bass and dubstep music. We don’t like to be spoon fed – we like tracks that challenge us…even if that means bumping us from our comfort zone. And we really dig breaks, drum and bass and dubstep that push the boundaries…producing sounds that aren’t ‘now’ but indications of what’s around the corner. Deep , dark, delicious …and sometimes disturbing. The beats at Aardvark aren't thoroughbreds. Our drum and bass, breaks and dubstep artists fuse sounds as well as genres. It's kind of like cross-pollination. It’s what keeps these sounds fresh, innovative and unique. Purists will hate them. We make no apologies. Adventurers, however, should enjoy the trip. Plug in…and play it loud.

Breaks & Psybreaks DJ and Producer Ninja Kodou is crazy, unexpected, weird, at times dangerous, extremly unstable and victim of extreme mood swings.  He's none other than Eyal Menahem from northern Israel. As a lad he always had rhythm, tapping things around him which found him beat boxing (even at a very young age).

His first encounter with real music was around the age of 9 when he was spotted at his school as a musicaly gifted child.  He was sent off to perform with the local youth orchestra in his town (something he did for about 9 years until joining the army).  A year or two after that the age of Trance and Psy came which he encountered at parties.

The breaks and drum and bass fusion act Staedler & Waldorf are a squelchy Welshy band with more styles than a Run Run Shaw flick.  Rough in the jungle, the dancehall and the house, Staedler & Waldorf growl from the stalls, making their namesake look like a rubbish salad and a biro that never works when you're trying to write a 'to do' list. This is 'music that fucks you on the dancefloor' according to a post on their MySpace page.  This is grimy, pulsating, electronica from the home of Clarke's pies and Shirley Bassey.
