In a week that’s saw the success of South African DJ and gold selling producer Eric M’s Beat Psycology radio show and the announcement of CD manufacturing and distribution deals in Indonesia and North America – comes the news of his latest single ‘Woven’ featuring Thalia hitting the charts in the UK and Europe.
Promo copies of ‘Woven’, signed exclusively to Oakenfold's Perfecto sub-label Emalodic, went out to every major DJ and radio station in the UK, United States and Europe. The single went in at the No 29 spot on the DMC World Dance Charts on DJ Pages and has enjoyed the support of Adam White on his popular weekly Euphoria show on Ministry of Sound Radio and Paul Oakenfold.
White said: “I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to pick 3 of South Africa's hottest DJ/producers, sign them up and push their music into the global. Eric M is massively talented and has become good friend.”
Not one to rest on his laurels, Eric has also released his MP3 Series, Vol 1 compilation CD, which features 100 of his commercially available tracks – including all of his gold and top chart selling singles and remixes. It’s the first time his popular collection of extended remixes and 12” vinyl releases have been made available in digital format. It’s widely believed that this is the first time a gold selling producer has made a collection of releases available on an MP3 CD. The CD boasts nearly 9 hours of music and is being handled by the label that brought Eric M’s music to North America, Latin America, Australia and SE Asia – Aardvark Records.
Further developments during Eric’s epic week were announcements made by Aardvark Records covering CD manufacturing and distribution deals with Kunaki in North America and Insight Unlimited in Indonesia. Insight, the same company which handles EMI in Indonesia, expressed a keen interest in the manufacturing, distribution and promotion of Eric M’s album ‘Everytime this song plays’ and the EP ‘Touch Faith’ which brought the South African to the attention of the global dance music scene.
