Surfwear giant O'Neill has licensed no less than
4 tracks by the UK indie band, Little Spitfire. The tracks were licensed for use in O'Neill Europe surf videos. "gimmebetta", "silly girl", "reanne" and "i'm alright" feature in the O'Neill The Mission video series.
The innovative contest known as “O’Neill The Mission” invited the top 4 competitors taken from the icy waters of the O’Neill Highland Open (5-star WQS) in Scotland in April 2006 and placed them in the tropical paradise of Tahiti where they boarded the 120’ luxury yacht Haumana for an all expenses paid mission covering the best surf breaks on the main islands of Tahiti and Moorea.
The O’Neill Mission is an exciting and very innovative development. It's all about pushing the boundaries of surf events with a different format and going to places not otherwise possible to host big events for any number of logistical reasons.
The fire and passion of Little Spitfire would seem the perfect compliment to the vision of O'Neill's new surfing competition.
Aardvark Records wished the band well on the selection of their tracks as part of the soundtrack for the videos.
