On the behalf of Satya Graha, Aardvark Records Ltd has the pleasure
of announcing the single “Roanoke” has been nominated for BBC Radio 6
“Song of the Year 2004”.
The Chicago-based Americana / Alt Country band extends its thanks and
appreciation to Bob Harris and the Radio 6 team for supporting their EP
“Under the Skin” and the single. BB Mayes, the band’s US-based manager,
said: “We appreciate all of the radio airplay and glowing press reviews
we’ve been receiving. In addition to this, to have the support of a legendary
and highly regarded presenter like Bob Harris is really special.”
“Roanoke” generated film music supervisor interest early in 2004. It
is under consideration for use in soundtracks for three American films
and a popular American teen television drama.
Alessandro di Savoia, Aardvark Records’ Director of Marketing & Promotions,
said: “To say we were all pleasantly caught by surprise is an understatement.
‘Roanoke’ is such a beautiful and evocative song. Purely acoustic tracks
are hard to pull off. It was one of the tracks from the album that totally
blew me away. We’re just so pleased for it to receive this kind of recognition.”
“2004 is proving to be a breakthrough year for Satya Graha,” said Aardvark’s
owner, Andrew Reeve. “This comes on top of a video which is in the works
for the single “Torch Bearer’s Salute” and a UK & European tour later
in the year. It just goes to show that with really hard work, belief and
commitment, the small guys in the industry can get recognition.”
