Single 'Hail Caledonia' gathers

momentum in America

The new single from UK singer songwriter Steve O'Connor has taken off in America. The acoustic pop-rock "Hail Caledonia" has been heavily promoted by George A Campbell, the 76th Chief of the New York Caledonian Club, who picked it up and put it on the influential American organisation's new website. It is the only music entry on the club's website.

Campbell was so taken with the single he has been personally promoting it to other American Scottish societies. "I want to give special thanks to Steve O'Connor for giving us permission to play his wonderful tune," Campbell said.

California Scottish-Americans have also responded very positively. Initial plans will see Steve performing at the NY Scottish Parade and select live music venues in New York during a whistle-stop tour of America. He will also perform in venues in California with the possibility of his tour being extended to include additional states and appearance at the gathering of the clans in NY as a part of their Burns Night celebrations.

"Hail Caledonia," released on Aardvark Records, continues to receive heavy support in the UK from Celtic Radio and other UK Celtic nation radio stations.
